The Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey "Blue" Circus Train
|
On October 3, 2011, I followed the RBBB Blue train for a portion of its several hour long journey from Nashua, New Hampshire to Worcester, Mass. over Pan American railways (former Boston & Maine track that was, for many, many years, part of the route of The State of Maine). The pictures below follow the train from the wye at North Chelmsford (just south of the New Hamphsire border) to Clinton, Mass. where a CSX freight spur passes overhead next to the long abandoned station.

The train was delayed in reaching Clinton, Mass. by more than two hours because of a broken rail just north of Pine Hill Rd. in Lancaster, Mass. The pictures which follow show CSX freight engines passing overhead on a separate line that crosses (but no longer connects) at Clinton as well as the work crews being dispatched north from somewhere south of Clinton to fix the track problem.
